Director Sought for Holiday Production, "FrUiTCaKeS"

Mix together a batch of fruitcakes, three dozen Christmas trees, 10,000 outdoor Christmas lights, a chicken pox epidemic, two southern spinsters, an estranged old man, a lost cat named Tutti Frutti and a Christmas hog named Buster, and you've got the recipe for the fun-filled and touching theatrical event called "Fruitcakes." Written by Julian Wiles, it provides audiences with a heaping helping of holiday warmth and Christmas cheer. SAAC's production is sponsored by Simmons First Bank.
We are currently accepting director applications for "Fruitcakes." It is a full-length play in two acts and calls for a cast of 10 men and 11 women. Auditions will be held on Monday, October 9 and Tuesday, October 10. Performances are scheduled for November 24 through December 3 at 7:30 pm each day except for the 2:30 pm Sunday matinees.
Qualified applicants should send a resume and brief production plan by August 31, 2006 to South Arkansas Arts Center, Attn: Theatre Steering Committee, 110 E. 5th Street, El Dorado, AR 71730.
